Dog-A-Thon Event

WE HAVE HAD TO MAKE THE DECISION TO CANCEL THIS EVENT DUE TO ANOTHER EVENT BEING HELD ON THE SAME DAY. WE APOLOGIZE FOR THIS INCONVENIENCE. WE HOPE TO HOLD THIS EVENT IN THE FALL.

Dog A Thon Pet REGISTRATION FORM 2010
Pet Registration Fee: $7
DEADLINE – All pet registrations must be received by April 19
We must limit the total of pet registrations to 30. A pet registration is officially accepted only when we receive it along with the fee.

TASKS DETAILS OF ALL COMMITTEES:
(01) REGISTRATION
Make a registration sign
Bring table and chairs
Process all incoming registration (will be forwarded to you via email). Make a list of owners’ names/dogs’ names. Run copies of all checks and staple on registrations. Submit checks to FLAC for deposit.
At the event, make sure all participants have registered and paid.
Verify rabies vaccination certificates.
Make sure all pets are on leash.
Provide disposal bowls and water to all pet owners as well as waste bags.
(02) ADVERTISEMENT
Place ad in Times Daily (Cadie)
Place ad in Free Ads Weekly (Cadie)
Place ad in AmericanTown.com (Cadie)
Contact and invite local radio stations to attend and broadcast our event
Contact and invite Times Daily to broadcast/publish an article of our event
Design flyer, run copies, distribution
(03) FOOD/BEVERAGE
Contact and invite a variety of fast food restaurants. We are not asking for any percentage of any sale.
When contacting food vendors we must make them aware of the park’s following rules:
#11) If concessions are to be sold, a list of vendors must be submitted for approval prior to the event. Twenty-five dollars ($25.00) fee from each vendor must be remitted to the Parks & Recreation.
#12) All vendors should be self-contained and are required to obtain all State Health Department permits, liability insurance, etc.
#15) Tent stakes or stakes of any kind cannot be driven into the ground without prior approval in order to avoid puncturing irrigation lines. $25 permit.
#16) Any holes created by tents, tables or chairs must be filled in when event is complete
(04) SET UP/CLEAN UP
First ones there and last ones to leave.
Obtain large garbage liners from the shelter and keep our assigned grounds garbage-free. Empty our assigned grounds garbage bins as needed.
Assign 1 traffic attendant to direct Dog-a-Thon participants to the assigned parking lot/spaces
Assign 1 parking attendant to assigned parking spaces
Reserve parking spaces closest to the event for volunteers and vendors to load/unload.
Set up supervision of volunteers and vendors to make sure everyone abide by the following park’s rules:
#15) Tent stakes or stakes of any kind cannot be driving into the ground without prior approval in order to avoid puncturing irrigation lines. $25 permit.
#16) Any holes created by tents, tables, or chairs must be filled in when event is complete.
#08) After the event, the P&R Department has the right to inspect the park and responsible party will be required to repair any park structure or ground or replace any items missing from the park.
(05) PET GAMES
Contact Wal Mart, $ Tree, etc. to donate few items we need.
Coordinate and supervise games
(06) POOP PATROL
Bring large garbage and disposal gloves from shelter.
Contact Petco and Pet Depot to donate small waste bags.
Make sure everyone use waste bags.
Keep the facility poopfree.
(07) TABLING
Bring table and chairs
Secure our banner and sign
Display survey sheets and flyers.
Have a donation jar
Promote PLEDGE for our new Vet & Meds Fund (to be submitted online only)
Balloons for decoration (optional)
(08) VIDEO/PHOTO
Someone to take photos/video of our event
(09) DOG TRAINING/ASSESSMENT PRESENTATION
LeeAnn and Beth will do a 30-minute presentation and Q&A
