PROFILE – Coordinators
Cadie, Administration. Volunteer Schedule Coordinator
Co-founder of SAViA. I started to volunteer at the FLAC in April 2008. It’s such a blessing to work daily with a solid core of animal lovers who really wants to make a difference while the pets are temporarily staying at our shelter. Even though I haven’t met many of you, we have bonded because of our main goal. My motto is:
“DAILY PET CARE IS THE HEART BEAT OF OUR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM”

Sorry! No picture at this time (coming soon enough).
I started volunteering at the shelter in April or May of ‘09. I had been laid off and was looking for a way to give back to my community while I had the free time. Since I dearly loved animals, the Florence Lauderdale Animal Shelter seemed like an excellent choice… and it was! I currently administrate the website as well as volunteering at the shelter on a weekly basis.
Melody, Administration. Website Editor
Co-Founder of SAViA. Hello, Volunteers & Visitors! I just recently (2009) decided to volunteer my time to a worthy cause. I love animals and so when I saw the ad for volunteers for the Florence Animal Shelter, I was excited to see help was needed on the website. I am a Stay at Home Mom living in the country about 1 hour away from the FLAC. I have 4 cats named Pickles, Velcro, Mohammed (solid black) & Lulu. A now blind dog named Max, 10 chickens and from time to time a 4 legged weary traveler that stops in for food and rest. Sometimes we are able to rescue a pet from certain death on the road by the house.
On the website, I take care of the Pets of the Week, Lost and Found, Pet Requests and various editing requests as needed.

Debbie is our Pet Care Department Director and Rescue Director. She’s at the shelter daily morning and afternoon. Debbie is loved and admired by all our volunteers. She is totally dedicated to make a difference by giving all our shelter’s dogs and cats a chance to be adopted, fostered or sent to rescue. Her daughter Allie provides cat care weekly after school.
