ANIMAL CRUELTY CASE – February 2012 Jillian’s story

Jillian was found living on a couch that someone had dumped on the side of the road. So sad, all she had in the world was an old wet couch. A compassionate person brought her to us. Although I was a perfect stranger to her, she was happy to see me! She had no reason to trust me but she did.

As I assessed her, I discovered that she had an abscess on her leg, very dehydrated, emaciated, and also an older dog. I bathed her, started treatment on her would and gave her SQ fluids. She didn’t give me a minute’s trouble through all this. She’s very friendly w/ other dogs and obviously doesn’t meet a stranger!! She’s well on her way to a better life!! She would heal quickest in a foster home if someone has some extra love to share!!

Yet another bully breed that has been mistreated and abandoned and has every reason in the world to hate people. However, she chooses to be grateful and kind to the very species that put her in predicament she was in. <3

.Cecily and I had a very productive morning. I cleaned all the pens, cleaned litter boxes and food and water bowls. Clean towels were put down and the cats had soft food. We also took in a new orange kitty, cleaned a new pen for him and gave him the works, even some soft food. He’s a sweetie.

.Cecily put ID collars on all the cats (both rooms), pink for the girls and aqua for the boys. On them she wrote their ID numbers, names and other pertinent info that one would need to identify each cat. Cecily saw this when she went to the Jacksonville Shelter in FL. She thought it was a great idea and it makes identifing all the cats so much easier. What a clever woman!! I brought in my last blue tray table which she has identified with Cat Room emblazoned on the top of it. The last one when the way of so many things we bring in from home… who knows where! With the Cat Room chair and Table she was able to do this in no time at all.

.Cecily has agreed to be the Cat Room leader of the cat pack. Thank you Laurie for your help, good ideas and time well spent. We expect that you will like Cecily’s idea as well when you come in. That about covers it all!

Odie is a 5-year old male small mix breed dog. He’s partially blind and hardly has any teeth. He is missed very much.
